looking for something....anything

And it's only resulted in this
ONCE
(knock on wood)

Wow after reading this blog post I decided I look like a very neglectful parent.
I thought I should just mention that:
#1. all the bar stools are put away in the basement..except now he just uses the drawers as a ladder.
#2. the pantry does have a lock, but he's learned how to unlock it...with a knife.... uh crap
#3.the medicine is technically up high & all cleaning products are child locked
#4. This only happens when I need to use the bathroom or put my face on.
#5. after I snap a picture he is immediately removed and called by his first, middle and last name in a loud parental tone.

Nap time

Here's a few things I've been up to while the boy child rests for 2 golden hours.

                                                                   Burp Rags
3 Lady's at my work are pregnant with girls

one side is cotton the other is terrycloth.
I made them extra big, my kids were supreme projectile vomitors

I gave them each a set of 3

For my lovely Mother's birthday I made her a dark skinned gal, per her request. (she's an avid collector)

Happy Birthday Maw

I'm pretty sure there's alot of other things I do at nap time, just nothing worth blogging about.

Baby Jane?

Tell me, do you have a childhood memory that has just kinda stuck in your brain?
I do.  An old movie I watched, oh I don't know I was maybe 8 or 9.

"What ever happened to baby Jane"

Storyline:

In a tale that almost redefines sibling rivalry, faded actresses Blanche and 'Baby' Jane Hudson live together. Jane was by far the most famous when she performed with their father in vaudeville but as they got older, it was Blanche who became the finer actress, which Jane still resents. Blanche is now confined to a wheelchair - Jane ran her over with the car while drunk, even though she has no memory of it - and Jane is firmly in control. As time goes by, Jane exercises greater and greater control over her sister, intercepting her letters and ensuring that few if anyone from the outside has any contact with her. As Jane slowly loses her mind, she torments her sister going to ever greater extremes. (cooked and fed her, her pet bird)

So when I saw this

I totally had flashbacks of this

Creeped me out a little.
Incredible actresses, I should probably watch this again to ease my mind.
I still love you Canyon.

October in a Nutshell

Wow! where did October go?
October was a busy busy month, so here are our main events.

Tuesday- Trunk or Treat.
A genius idea, if I do say so myself.

Thursday
Porter's school doesn't do a Halloween parade like I did as a kid, instead they had crazy hair school pride day.

Mom, Mother-in-law & teacher treats.
tissues, hand sanitizer & candy (plus a cinnamon scentsy for the moms)

Friday
Pumpkin Carving at Ty & Shays

Porter, diggin in

                                                           One of the final carvings

My Butterfly Fairy

It was a toss up
Darth? Vampire? Iron Man?
I think he made a perfect Tony Stark.

Saturday arrived and we had trick or treating to do.
Lincoln was not having anything to do with a costume, so I tricked him of course.
Batman pjs. He didn't even know he was in costume.

First Stop
Trick or treating and soup at Ty and Shay's

Now off to Gma and Gpa McPhie's for more trick or treating and more scrumptious soup.

Pumpkin Painting

                                                RATED R
Warning: this post contains adult material
                      Viewer discretion advised

One of our family traditions is Pumpkin Painting.  No knives, stencils, gutting or open flames. Just good ol' paint to brush

The young arteest

Some chose to paint, while others chose to ingest it.
A moms glance at the bottle noticed the nontoxic symbol.  another poison control call avoided.

Mr. Britts artistic skillz. (we'll get back to him shortly)

I don't know but I think Simpson's just found themselves a new character.

Canyons 2010 fall collection

This child of mine amazes me. He made most of these colors himself.  not to mention the 2 hours he spent on it.

My artwork again

and again.
I had extra chrome spray paint leftover from another project.  I think it turned out kinda cool

our beautiful Halloween stairs

Let's get back to Ryan's pumpkin shall we.
We finished up, lined the stairs and gazed upon our beautiful masterpieces.
Uncle Tyler came over to see the finished artwork.
now picture 3 grown people standing on the steps talking while examining the orange gourds.
I look down at Ry's pumpkin & back up at him. back at the pumpkin & then at Ty. I glance down at the pumpkin again, back at Ry.  That's it, that's all I could take, why am I the only one wanting to laugh?
So I had to point it out. (sorry mom)
bah ha ha ha ha ha

didn't enter this one in the ward pumpkin contest!
 Happy Halloweener!
