Tooth-B-Gone

Porter has been trying to wiggle his teeth loose since Kindergarten.  Well all that hard work finally paid off...at least as soon as Ryan got a hold of it.
This itty bitty tooth has been hanging on for weeks, I swear it was swaying back & forth in the wind.

I had porter lay in my lap & I tried getting it out with a washcloth, we got a few pops and cracks out of it, but that was it.  Finally Ryan said "Let me give it a try" he pulled & nothing happened. "huh? one more time."  .... POP.... out it came.

We were all laughing so hard. Porters face was priceless.
Way 2 Go P. only 20 something more to go.

And there it is, more proof that my boy is growing up.

And the lovely & beautiful tooth fairy flew by.

Happy St. Patricks Day

I thought we had followed all the steps

Step #1. make a leprechaun trap.
complete with a ladder, promises of gold & a hidden trap door.

Step #2 make delicious rainbow cupcakes to further entice the wee Irish lad

Step #3 go to bed with one eye open

Well, no such luck. the kids woke up with a trail of clover leading to the so called trap

He escaped! he was nice enough to leave some yummy treasure & a note

He was in such a hurry, he left his hat.

                                          Enjoying the gold

                             thanks leprechaun

Some things we have learned for next year
#1. build a taller trap
#2. Disguise my handwriting a little better.
"mom, this looks like your writing, but I know you couldn't have rolled it up so small!"
#3. make a better leprechaun hat.
"mom, I know their hats are harder & have a gold metal buckle, are you sure you didn't make it?"

for a week straight Porter was thinking of ways to catch the leprechaun & how old he has to be before he can go to Ireland.
I love how into this holiday he was.

8 Years

It's crazy to think that 8 years ago, Ryan and I were married!
It's also crazy to think that we picked the month of March to do it. ( no pun intended) March is cold, march is wet, March is ugly.
We thought, let's be sentimental & get married the month we first went out. So silly now that I think about it.
You know what else is crazy? Ryan was over a hour late to our wedding. yup, a hour. do you know how long a hour is to a bride?
I remember sitting & waiting...&....waiting. Finally the sweet temple worker brought back a young gentleman and said " He's here, he's here, here's Brother Britt." um ya, it wasn't.
I said "nope, not him"
The brother said "yes, it's him."
I felt bad arguing, but I was fairly confident I knew who my future husband was.
I wonder what that young fella was thinking? ha ha
Anywho, Ryan  eventually showed up and we were married for Time and Eternity.  One of the best days of my life.

We've had downs, but mostly ups and I feel so blessed to have had him in my life for over 15 years.  I'm not sure why we've been so lucky, but I'm glad we are.

Happy Anniversary Ryan
i love you
{you are now free to vomit}

Laser Tag

My little brother Matt called & said "Hey let's go play laser tag"
 and I said "Uhhh...ok"

The boys played video games while we waited for our turn.

P all suited up and ready

This is not the person I would like to meet in a dark alley

Madi- a.k.a The Leader

We had never been & I didn't know what to expect, but the kids had a blast.
The packs were a little too big and heavy for Canyon, so I wore the vest and she carried the gun.
It pretty much ended up being
THE KIDS vs. UNCLE MATT

My Gal & Public transportation

My Gal & I and my Gal & I only, took a little trip to the Gateway to visit Build a Bear.  It was chilly but we decided the Front Runner would be our mode of transportation and off we went.

Waiting for the Front Runner

We missed the train we were aiming for, but it was for the best. The machine wouldn't take my card, so I had to visit the ATM and the gas station to break my $20 because that ticket machine gives your change back in Sacajawea coins & nobody wants that. (have you felt my purse?)

Seated comfortably with Bug Juice in hand.

Next stop was the Trax.

My problem with confined public places is I stare at people and I think about their stories.
You know: girl on her own, stripping to pay for law school, that sorta thing.

Canyon picked out her bear and was ready to fill it.

Canyon was the cotton controller

The lady let her pick out a heart for her bear and told her to rub it and make a wish

Bath time was next

Outside the store

$27 later, ballet shoes, bows, Hello Kitty undies and all.

Pizza

Canyon & her new friend - Claira

The ride home was pretty packed (rush hour)
every time someone walked by looking for a seat, she'd put her feet on the seat next to her.  She cracks me up.

She fell asleep on the way home, which was good because my ears needed a rest.  Most people wouldn't know it, but that girl can talk...& talk & talk & talk.
We had a blast and I can't wait to do it again. I think the summer is a better option for me though.
