therapy anyone?

Canyon waiting in line.  I didn't even attempt to put put her on santa's lap.

I asked Porter what he was going to ask santa for and he said "I don't know, something from Wal-mart

Before

After
He was ok once I gave him his candycane.  At least he'll have more to talk about with his therapist besides his purple and pink stroller.

a courtesy cone from Artic Circle...huh what santa?

New Moon

El Matador

Karla and Brooke

Che & Amber Rae

Karla & I

My gals and I were able to sneak away for dinner & a little New Moon.
It doesn't matter where we go or what we do it's always a blast and great memories.  Can you believe we've been friends since Elementary and Jr. high? (my mom must be paying them well)

Cabin

We had the privelege of staying at a friends cabin last weekend and the kids had a blast & the parents got to relax.
The stairs were alot of work with Lincoln going up and down and the trusty green van got stuck on the way up, but other than that...PERFECT.

Fredrick VonMueller

Fredrick VonMueller & Porter hanging out in his room

For school Porter got to bring home Fredrick VonMueller a foreign exchange bear from Switzerland. Originally there were 2 sisters and a brother, but according to Porter the sisters have gotten lost.
Porter's job was to show Fredrick around town & take pictures.

Porter had fun and i'm pretty sure Fredrick VonMueller did too! (I hope Fredrick VonMueller didn't mind the Lysol bath.)

My Mighty Men

Big Mountain Cow Elk Hunt
Porter experienced his fist elk hunt and a successful one at that.  It looks cold, wet, snowy & misserable, but what do I know.  Ryan said porter was a trooper and hiked right along with him.

This was the only picture Ryan could manage to get with Porter because he didn't like the blood.

so come on over for some elk roast ... elk tacos ... elk spagetti ... elk burger ... elk hamburger helper ... elk stew... and anything else where normal people would use plain ol' hamburger.

A side note:
-Porter and Ryan's conversation a few days before-
Ryan: hey porter you wanna come with me elk hunting?
Porter:  You bet I do!
This kid makes me laugh, I think we found wally and the beav's long lost brother.

Beauty and the Beast

This is the best picture my dad could get with his camera phone. darn it.
My fabulous parents took the older grandkids to see Beauty and the Beast at the Terrace Plaza Playhouse.  Count Em' yup that's an 8 year old, a 6 year old and three 4 year olds! yikes.  My parents said they were all well behaved.  I believe them those are some awesome grandkids.
Thanks again mom and dad, Porter had a blast.

The Hooper Ghost?

I tend to do my bloggin / face booking /crafting in the evening when everyone's asleep. you know a little me time.
I was taking some pics off of the camera and onto the computer when I saw this one of Lincoln.  Notice the ghostly figure on the porch? Ya I know right? so I zoomed in I zoomed out, I turned my head left and to the right. I squinted and blinked real fast....still there.
I was a little freaked out. I do believe in ghosts and I don't mind them either...as long as there nice ghosts.  My tired exhausted mom brain is thinking all kinds of things. Maybe his name was little Patrick O'neil (rick for short) and he was killed trying to fix the hay bailer? I had no one to tell, Ryan was asleep!
the next day as soon as he walked in the door from work, I showed him the picture.

ME:  look look look, I think we have a ghost!!!!
RYAN:  Come here
-He walked me to the kitchen-

US: ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

It was the mummy Porter had colored in school, I forgot I hung it on the window!

R.I.P O-B

Well, I went  to check on O-B today and let's just say i'm pretty sure caterpillars don't sleep on their backs...motionless...for 2 days.  I'll have to admit I thought he was losing his chubbyness and the sparkle in his eye.
It's the garbage can for little shrivled O-B, but I'll keep the container for future unwilling insect participants.
So Long O-B we'll miss you.

Happy Halloween

Halloween 2009
2 Cowfolk and Spiderman of course.
The kids had a great halloween, they started the day with g-ma & g-pa Britt at Black island farm then hit a few of their neighbors houses.  Off to G-ma and G-pa McPhie's for soup, cookies & more trick-or-treating.
What a great holiday. I think all holidays should involve free candy.

Orange day

My sweet mama made Canyon this super cute bandana dress.  It didn't quite fit and the bandana was thicker than the norm.  something just wasn't right, so ta da, now it's a bandana skirt with matching hair accessory of course.
Just so happend to be Orange day at pre-school today...nice
so so easy to make, I think i'll make more out of left over material. seriously took 20 minutes.
click on my Vand Co button for the turtorial.
(sorry bout the fuzzy pics, my camera setting must be weird)

Check out Lincolns curly hair.   Love it!
not sure where they get it.
maybe I should grow it out.. add a braid and a bead...watch out hooper ladies.

yay for fall

Seems as though fall had come and gone, but we did manage a little leaf fun.
Had to go to Nannys to feed the dogs since everyone was away hunting.
The kids didn't mind one bit.

SNOW

I'm not a fan of snow...cold....cold...snow
but, I couldn't resist taking this picture. This is my favorite view in the house.  Actually every view in my house is amazing, but this one's my fav.
What's even better then this view is being warm and toasty inside.
I know I won't have this view forever once people start building, which is ok I wouldn't mind a neighbor or 2.

Pizza, tattoos & Park City

Ryan and I were able to have an overnighter for the first time since we've had kids (5 1/2 years ago!)  Thanks to Mother-in-law Lisa we were able to go to park city.  So mad I forgot my camera, I wanted to document the monumental occassion. oh well, we'll just have to go again...soon.

so why the pizza?

basically, I didn't wan't to cook dinner and I didn't want Lisa to worry about it, so I picked up a Papa Murphys Pumpkin pizza before we left for Park City.
The kids got a kick out of it.  Except they faught over the 2 black olives.  JEESH

These kids go nuts for the tattoos in the vending machines.  What 3 & 5 year old doesn't need a flaming skull tattoo on their chest? i'm just preparing them for the future.
(do you notice her skirt is on sideways.)

Have you met O-B?

                                                         - LOOK CLOSE -

The kids found this cute little caterpillar in the garage.
I asked Porter what we should name it and he said "orange black, cause it's orange & black"    I said "maybe we could call him O-B for short". He loved it.
He made him a name tag and gave him some grass.

I'm hoping it will turn into a butterfly, but i'm not so sure the fuzzy guy will make it through the week.  Everyday Porter says "Mom, I think it's dead!"  So being the mom that I am, I poke it with a stick, it wiggles and we do the same thing the next day.
good luck O-B

Sunday Drive

We took a sunday drive hoping to catch the last of the changing leaves, well....we missed them. We had fun anywho.  We started the journey off with a half priced happy hour slushy from Sonic. ok so mine was actually a diet vanilla coke.  shhhh i know, i know, but at least we made it to church, that counts..right?
a bumpy wrong turn and a hour later, Canyon woke from her nap soakin wet (hence the awesome outfit) & the other two needed to get out and move their legs.  We stopped at a "restroom" if you can call it that. LOCKED! drive a little further LOCKED!  don't even ask what was behind the bathrooms. we managed and all is well. took a little hike and some fall pictures. wah lah a wonderful sunday drive. I love my little family.
