The rains came down

" The rains came down & the floods came up"

  Yup we got it.
Fortunately the damage was not as bad as some.

Our house is partially day lighted & during all these rains I noticed one of our window wells was full of H2O. Not from the rain coming in, but from rain coming from underneath.  Upon a more thorough investigation we found WATER.
Water in the hall

Water in the batcave

Water in my gals room

WATER, WATER, WATER!

we ripped out all the soaked padding and was able to borrow some big ol' fans to dry the carpet.  My new beautiful carpet. teardrop

Meanwhile, our displaced children camped out for 4 days

The Conclusion: Let's put a sump pump in like the builder was supposed too!!!!

The water filled up as fast as Ryan dug.

We ran it out to the middle of the yard.

Gee whiz I'm glad that's over with.

thanks hubby for all your endless work and calluses
thanks chad for your hard work too!
and a special extra shout out to Logan for his carpet expertise.

#1 MOM

I had the best mothers day with my family.  We checked porter out of school early and traveled to the zoo.
And what could compliment the Zoo better then the Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square.

I think it's a requirement to be photographed by this drinking fountain. (it didn't even work)

Canyons turn

Linc and Ryan looking at the baby elephant.

This kid makes me smile.
he looks like a little tourist

more elephant watching

porcupine
in case you were wondering my grandpa had a bunch of porcupine quills that I took to school for show & tell in the 3rd grade.  I also took a national geographic that Mr. Jensen found to be a little inapropriate.

If it doesn't have a "do not touch" sign, they touch.

I don't know if this pole was salty or sweet, but whatever it was this giraffe was loving it.

My gorillas

again, no sign

P was mad because he didn't want Canyon to sit by him. Sorry kid the train is leavin.

can't forget the scorching elephant slide.

I always wanted a turtle

who doesn't keep stale bread in their purse? you never know when there might be a duck to feed.

my parasol lady

I wish you could have seen Lincoln's face. ha ha

Hogle Zoo 2011

Next we arrived at Trolley Square. Oh how I love Spaghetti Factory. The bread, the salad, the pesto, the spaghetti, the Roy Rogers and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory just below.
The last time we ate there, Porter was 18 months and he ended up in the Hospital the next day for the croup. Not this time, this time was awe-some.

Waiting.....

Waiting.......

Ryan party of 5

in case you were unaware this is how you drink a Sprite, especially if you're 2

And this is the only and correct way to properly eat one's spaghetti

Thanks Ryan and kids for my best mothers day to date.
LOVE YOU

Let's catch up

Really?  This summer has already been so busy and we're only 2 weeks in!
The 2 year old that we call Lincoln is napping, so let's catch up shall we? Yes, I think we shall.
I'm going back more then a month, but here it is.....The kid's fantastic masterpieces.  If you remember, the Easter bunny brought the kids these shirts and puffy paint.  Puffy paint is a bit of a 80's reference, but we puffy painted everything back then. There must be a reason why it's still around... right?...yup...because it rocks yo!

Linc prefers to get right in it.

Canyon prefers the paint brush.

While Porter likes to plan things out first.

mom had to hop in to smooth out some of the huge globs, that would never dry in a million years otherwise.

canyons finished shirt.  simply breathtaking, I know.

I guess that tells you what kind of spring we had.

Lincoln was super excited to get his "lincoln shirt" on.

and the rear view, which is all I usually see of him as he zooms past me.

Fishing

Ryan and Canyon went to the trout farm for her preschool field trip

And they had a blast

Nice catch

Canyon and her cousin Spencer

She caught some good ones

Ryan and Canyon had the best time, she love's spending time with just her and her dad.
I googled a fish recipe and cooked those puppies up for dinner. not bad, even the kids ate it up.

Classic Fun Center

Well, it was that time of year again. My work party was at Classic Fun Center.  This is basically the only time we go.  My kids anticipation for this was beyond intense.
The best part about my annual work party is they rent it out, so it's just my work and the kids have free reign over everything, they even set out a bucket of coins for the arcade.  Oh and did I mention the food? yum

Canyon wasting no time and getting right to business.

P shootin some B Ball

who doesn't love a little skee ball

I have to hand it to her, I couldn't even climb this one. I fell half way up & gracefully limped away.

This was about closing time and P was wiped out. He lost his arm somewhere in the process.

Some may call this cheating, I call it makin due with what you got.

thanks work for the fun night.
