5

This little lady is five!

Shaylee you've done it again. thankyou for the pictures!

Here's a list of my favorite things about Canyon at the age of 5:

-Loves food..any food...all food
-Loves babies. she is going to be the best mom someday.
-She is a snappy dresser & prefers skirts over pants. always has.
-A great artist & practices daily
-speaking of artist, she is a pretty sneaky con-artist & can talk her dad into anything.
-This girl loves her daddy & I'm quite certain he is smitten with her.
-I can't seem to pin point it, but she has some sort of accent..New york? Boston? I love it.
-loving preschool & I love seeing how much she is learning.
-This girl can tell a joke & the laugh that follows is the funniest part.

We LOVE this gal & we can't get enough of her...well...until bedtime rolls around.

Happy Birthday Canyon Dean
We love you

Number 3 is three!!!

        Lincoln Jones is three!

Some of my favorite things about Lincoln right now:
1. Love his hair. not quite red, not quite blond and on the verge of curly & it grows like a chia pet.

2. has green eyes like his daddy

3. loves to eat, which is why I have a set snack time & 2 locks on the pantry.

4. He loves his spider man bike. He rode clean through 2 tires this summer & those things are a bugger to change.

5. So independent. getting dressed, getting buckled, taking a shower. everything..EVERYTHING

6. He is my shopping buddy. A sprite and a pack of Mamba's gives me a full hour at Joanns.

7. Almost every Sunday after sacrament I get a tap on my shoulder from someone telling me how funny he is to watch. I say "you're welcome" & replay the last hour in my head deciding if I should be embarrassed or not.

8. loves his brother, sister and his Bear dog and love love loves his daddy.

Happy Birthday Linc, we're so glad you are part of our family. We Love you

Thanks Shay and Maci for Lincs picks. you ladies rock!

"thirty flirty & thriving, thirty flirty & thriving"

It's officially official. I AM 30 and I am pleased as punch.
My 20's were beyond superb, but I'm anxious to see what my 30's hold.

So cheers to me & My next 30....wait...that will make me 60!..holy crap cakes!

Porter was my fab photographer

I woke up to my birthday balloons in all their glory & my special birthday message on my new chalkboard that Ryan made me.

I haven't gotten flowers in years & years. I don't like them. They stink, they're expensive, they shrivel up and die. not my thing. infact I have always told Ryan I'd much rather have a diet vanilla coke and a whatchamacallit.
I'm not gonna lie, when I saw that floral truck pull up I thought I was gonna pee in my pants! I was so excited.

Ryan thought he'd get away with getting me flowers if he said they were from the kids.
Ha ha ha- the card was supposed to say "Happy 30th birthday Love the Kids." ha ha. not quite Reed floral, but close.

2 school for cool

Hooray, school has started & I can finally get back to my well balanced schedule of dinner and baths and bedtime and grocery shopping and a small piece of my lost sanity.

My handsome 2nd grader
his teacher seems a little strict, which I am thrilled about.

My preschool gal
this is her 3rd and last year of preschool.
She love's it.

Fall, I welcome you at anytime.

Summer

Um, what else?
Quit drinking soda, 2 bike races, camping, scratched cornea, surprise asthma attack, fixed 7 flat bike tires, finished our playground, late nights, later mornings, planted 18 trees, played tooth fairy, ate alot of cereal & started drinking soda again.
yup that sums it up.

Camping

We headed to the hills for some R & R and by R & R  I mean, not resting and not relaxing.  Which is exactly how camping should be.

I wish I had this on video, we were all laughing & screaming & high fiven.
Porter bated the hook, cast the line & reeled this big ol' fella in all by himself.
way to go P!!!

Waiting & waiting...no luck.

We eventually wised up and removed the hook from Linc's poll and let him have at it.

That's porter on the other side of the lake. I love the reflection.

Porter just before the big catch

The expert Fisherlady

Really?..how?...I....I just don't get it.

Family photo before heading back to camp

I had to add this photo. What you don't see is how just before we snapped this shot he was using some pliers to lift the tab to his unauthorized soda.
SELF SUFFICIENCY AT IT'S BEST.

yummy peanut butter Smore's.
ha ha Don't I look like a little asian lady here?

"Tire swingin"
This may be classified as child abuse, but oh man their faces were so funny.

Every night is Smore night.

Jiffy Pop
Never tried it over the fire or ever for that matter.
it worked & it was delicious.

Football

The kids were a little unsure of the stream.

Nanny and Grandpa came up for lunch and a 4 wheeler ride.

It wouldn't be a family camping trip without Linc's favorite 4 legged buddy.

This trip was one of the best. The kids are still talking about it.
Hopefully we can get to the pines one more time before the fall sneaks in on us.
